Plakkie is Seriously South African — and the Betty's Bay is a tribute to one of the Western Cape's most charming coastal towns. Named after Betty Youlden, daughter of the area's first developer, Betty's Bay sits about 100 km from Cape Town and has traded its whaling station past for something far more wholesome: a sanctuary for African Penguins. The black and soft pink colorway is as quietly lovely as the town itself.
For the flip flop wearer who appreciates a good story — and a good penguin.
Plakkie is 'The Sunshine Brand' — a proudly South African flip-flop built for sunny days and beach adventures. Each design is named after an iconic South African beach or coastal spot, from Camps Bay and Clifton to Coffee Bay and Mabibi, celebrating the country's legendary coastal culture. The collection includes unisex, women's, and kids' styles featuring vibrant patterns, Springbok pride, and special editions supporting the NSRI. Colorful, comfortable, and unmistakably South African.
