Shipping policy
SOUTH AFRICA
Made by Artisans uses a number of courier companies and shipping options within South Africa. We strive to get your orders to you as quickly as possible. Some of our suppliers are smaller producers who run small production lines or work on a 'made to order' basis, so there could be a lead time for certain products. We always try our best to indicate this on the product page where relevant.
Deliveries to main centres is usually within 1-4 weekdays from date of dispatch, depending on your location and if all products ordered are in stock. Note that product availability is indicated on our product pages just above the 'add to cart' button - see our FAQ's for an explanation on what the various availability descriptions mean. By default, we dispatch orders when all products in a particular order are ready for dispatch (i.e. when those with lead times are also ready). On request and for a partial fulfillment surcharge we will be happy to ship your order in separate parts should not all items be ready for dispatch at the same time.
In certain instances, express and/or overnight deliveries can be arranged, this has to be requested in writing at time of order, and we will advise the surcharge due and turnaround time.
All packages must be signed for when delivered - please make sure when making your purchase that you provide a physical address where there will be someone available to sign during working hours. You'll receive shipping notifications via the cellphone number and/or email address you provided when ordering.
Please note that once your parcel has left us and in the hands of the courier then it is the responsibility of the courier to get your parcel to you or to your chosen location, and we have no control over duration or delivery times. Couriers are also busy over certain periods of the year (such as holiday periods or festive seasons) and this does increase delivery times. Should the courier not be able to deliver due to incorrect address provided or should the courier not be able to reach you at the phone number or email address provided then your parcel might be returned to us after a number of failed delivery attempts - the cost to resend your parcel would be for your account.
Shipping is charged as follows (courier door to door or Courier Guy Locker anywhere in South Africa):
- Free for orders of R950 or more*
- R99 for orders less than R950*
* Certain products are heavy or high in volumetric weight; these products carry a shipping surcharge regardless of order value.
