Veldskoen shoes carry a rich South African heritage dating back centuries. The name 'Veldskoen' means 'field shoes' in Afrikaans, first documented by Dutch settlers almost 400 years ago. According to Khoisan tribal folklore, leather shoes cut from a single hide were being crafted and worn as far back as 1,000 years before that. Today, Veldskoen continues this proud tradition with handcrafted leather footwear including their iconic heritage shoes, boots, sandals, plakkies (flip-flops), and slipper shoes. Each pair honours the timeless craftsmanship of South Africa's original field shoe.
